A Subsidiary of CSPC Passes EcoVadis Social Responsibility Certification

Recently, EcoVadis, a global corporate social responsibility (CSR) evaluation authority, completed the social responsibility audit and certification of Hebei Huarong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Huarong Pharmaceutical), a subsidiary of CSPC. In this certification, Huarong Pharmaceutical's comprehensive social responsibility contribution in the fields of the factory environment, labor and human rights, business ethics, and sustainable procurement was audited.

EcoVadis is the world's largest and most trusted CSR rating service provider. Currently, many large international groups and Fortune Global 500 companies are using the EcoVadis solution to evaluate the social responsibility performance of their suppliers.

Founded in 1993, Huarong Pharmaceutical is one of the major API production bases of CSPC. It mainly manufactures a full range of vitamin B12 APIs, including cyanocobalamin, methylcobalamin, adenosylcobalamin, hydroxocobalamin, vitamin B12 feed additives, etc.

More than 70% of Huarong's products are exported to Europe, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and other countries. Two varieties have obtained the US DMF certificates, two have received the EU CEP certificates, and four have obtained the Japanese MF certificates.

Since its establishment, Huarong Pharmaceutical has been committed to the goal of sustainable development, obtained qualifications such as environmental impact reports and safety evaluation reports according to the requirements of relevant regulatory agencies, and established labor safety and health and environmental protection management systems within the Company, obtaining ISO9001, ISO22000, ISO45001, ISO14001, BRC, HALAL, and KOSHER management system certificates.

Huarong Pharmaceutical's products are popular at home and abroad for their excellent quality and excellent service and are favored by multinational pharmaceutical giants. It is a long-term supplier of international pharmaceutical giants such as Merck, Bayer, Eisai, and DSM.

In recent years, CSPC has not only strengthened its internationalization in production, R&D, and sales but also paid more attention to improving social responsibility under international standards. In 2021, MSCI's report recognized CSPC's achievements in corporate governance, corporate behavior, product safety, personnel management, etc., and upgraded CSPC's ESG rating to Level-A.

Huarong Pharmaceutical won the EcoVadis Bronze Medal this time, which means another recognition by international rating agencies for CSPC's sustainable development and corporate social responsibility-related initiatives.
